Community Groups

The Community Groups at Christ Central Church exist to allow members and attenders to experience closer community with one another. All community groups meet on Sunday afternoons at the homes of members of Christ Central in different parts of the city. This gives people who attend Christ Central an opportunity to meet and connect with those who live near them, but also a chance to better be known and cared for. At community groups, there is usually a mix of hanging out, prayer and discussion of Sunday's sermon and scripture passage. Community groups are supposed to provide fellowship, friendship, and community outside of Sunday morning and church-wide events. All members of Christ Central are encouraged to be in a community group as a critical part of their spiritual health.

Youth & Family Ministries

At Christ Central, we believe in ministering to our families of newborns through 18 year olds. We have a holistic vision of God revealing Himself to our children, and we teach them as early as 4 years old the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For our Kindergarten through 5th grade students, we do a 45-minute teaching during the worship service of Sunday mornings. Our teachers use the Great Commission Publication curriculum to further develop their understanding and heart for Jesus. And for our 6th through 12th grade students, we have a program during the week during our MidWeek time where they meet with leaders and flesh out their beliefs and questions about the Bible and the Lord.

Membership

Though the word membership is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible and many churches have moved away from institutional and organizational commitments, we at Christ Central see that Bible implies a standard of commitment and accountability throughout the Bible. As the Church, the spiritual members of Jesus regardless of denomination or organizational commitment, we believe that spiritual membership should be reflected and really established in vows and accountability between members, their leaders and the Lord. While Christ Central does not believe the Bible teaches cultic, conscious binding, people controlling, we take seriously the Biblical call to churches to love, know, and care for God's people spiritually, emotionally and physically.
