New Members - Summer of 2024

Tyrese & Julia Washington

Hello! My name is Tyrese Washington. I was born and raised in Louisa, VA, a charming county nestled between Charlottesville and Richmond. For my undergraduate studies, I attended Virginia Tech, and later I pursued my graduate education at William and Mary. After completing my studies, I married Julia, and together we relocated to Charlotte. In October, I began my career as an Auditor at RSM in uptown Charlotte. I'm eager to meet new people and grow in both faith and knowledge alongside my new church family.

Julia Washington

My name is Julia. I was born and raised in Louisa, Virginia. After graduating from Virginia Tech, my husband and I got married and felt called to move to Charlotte, NC. I work as a PR/Content Coordinator at a marketing agency in the Free More West area. We're so excited to join this community and serve together in the church!

Kyle, Michelle and Chloe McNamara

We grew up, met, married and started our family in the frozen North East and when given the opportunity through work to move south we chose the Charlotte area as our new home in 2006. Kyle works in the soft ware industry and Michelle is a homeschool teacher, when they aren't hanging out with their grown children or hiking, biking, and traveling with our youngest. We are excited to love and serve the Charlotte area with our new CCC family.

Alice Chen-Taylor

I’m Alice Chen-Taylor, and I’m from Princeton, New Jersey. I majored in Psychology, played on the women’s golf team, and made a lot of pottery while at Furman University. I am a former professional golfer who competed on the LPGA Epson tour, I just completed my time working at a leadership development and executive coaching firm, and I’m about to begin my career as a florist at Gather Flower Studio in Uptown. I married my very best friend and loving partner, Alex Taylor, in 2021. Later that year, we moved to Charlotte, and Christ Central has been essential to walking with us in all seasons of life. I’m excited to officially become members and to continue to grow together in our faith and love for God and all people.

Alex Taylor

My name is Alex Taylor. I grew up in Gastonia, NC and completed my Bachelor’s degree at Furman University while competing on the men’s golf team. After spending a few years working in Georgia, I married the love of my life (Alice Chen-Taylor) and we moved to Charlotte in 2021. I currently work in finance, crunching numbers for a technology startup. I am excited to deepen my relationships at Christ Central and see more of Charlotte touched by the gospel.

Mary-Lisa Goodrum

My name is Mary-Lisa Goodrum, I grew up in Asheville and graduated from Clemson University. I was first introduced to Christ Central when I participated in the Charlotte Fellows program (2011-2012). After fellows, I moved up to DC/Northern Virginia where I lived for 9 years. I moved back to Charlotte in 2021 to be closer to family in the Carolinas. After returning to Charlotte, Christ Central quickly became my church home. I'm excited to be joining officially and looking forward to holding babies in nursery!

AQesha Luvon Ritzie-Spinks
KJ Ritzie & Elijah Ritze

My name is AQesha Luvon Ritzie-Spinks or Q for short. I was born in Sodus, NY and raised in Morristown, NJ. I personally sought out the Lord on my own at the age of 17 after a very tumultuous childhood and ultimately received baptism at Bethel Church of Morristown. As I continued through life, meeting numerous challenges along the way, no matter how deep within despair I would find myself, God always managed to save me and lift me out of the pits of darkness. When I met my future husband, he introduced me and my children to Christ Central. CCC has never felt like church in the traditional sense, but rather a place to commune with others both alike and different who have a love for the Lord in Christianity. I am very thankful for CCC. It is truly a safe place for my family and a place where we can further pay homage to the Trinity. I look forward to further showing my devotion by faithfully serving as a member.

Corrine Schuberth

My name is Corrine, I grew up between Connecticut and Massachusetts. I moved to CLT in 2022 with my husband, son, and in-laws. I currently work as the Creative Lead for a retail events company that puts on outdoor markets in SouthEnd. I have loved growing and becoming a part of Christ Central, and am overjoyed that we are becoming part of this church together as a family.

Joe Schuberth

My name is Joe Schuberth. I am originally from a colonial New England town called, Wethersfield, CT, but my family moved to Charlotte in 2022. We prayed to find a faith community that was intentional about reflecting the diversity reflected in and around Charlotte and that cared for its congregants and surrounding community in a holistic way. Needless to say, Christ Central has been the answer to that prayer, and I look forward to joining the mission of this church!

Jo Ann Kobel

My name is Jo Ann Kobel. I have been a follower of Jesus since I seven. After moving often my family moved to Charlotte when I was 14 and it has been home ever since. After graduating from UNCC, I began my career as a teacher. After teaching 39 years, I retired May, 2024. With this new season, CCC has become home for me! I look forward to worshipping, fellowshipping and serving with my new family here at CCC!

Michael & SHelagh Schuberth

My husband Mike and I retired to the Charlotte area in the fall of 2022. I am grateful to now live near my widowed mom and 3 of my siblings. We prayerfully searched for a new church home. We visited several churches in the area. After our first visit to Christ Central, we decided to attend again. We felt welcomed by all. We appreciate the vibrancy and authenticity of Christ Central’s staff and members. We value the sound Biblical teaching and passionate worship. We are in agreement with reformed and covenantal theology and embrace Christ Central’s mission as our own. We are excited to become part of the Christ Central family and grow in our faith and service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His church.
