Welcome Senior Pastor-Elect Rev. Tony Myles
On Palm Sunday March 24, 2024, the members of Christ Central Church voted unanimously to elect Rev. Tony Myles to be the next Senior Pastor of CCC. We are excited and grateful to the Lord as we wait expectantly for Pastor Tony & his family to join our community in Charlotte this summer.
Pastor Tony's election adds another major milestone to our 20-year anniversary celebration. His candidacy concludes a search that began in August 2022 after our founding Pastor Howard Brown was called to plant Kindred Hope Church in South Fulton (Atlanta), GA.
From the beginning of our search process, we witnessed firsthand the goodness of God to provide us with an incredible slate of diverse candidates, a gifted pastor search team and unity through every step of the journey. Please join us in prayer through this next season of transition. God is faithful!
It is with deep gratitude and tremendous excitement that we officially announce the next senior pastor of Christ Central Church, Pastor Tony Myles. Pastor Tony will begin his ministry at Christ Central Church starting July 1, 2024.
Meet Our New Pastor
Pastor Tony Myles has been a devoted servant of Christ and gospel-centered ministry for more than 20 years. After coming to faith in the Baptist tradition, he experienced a call to vocational ministry and reformed theology while earning his bachelor's degree at University of Missouri in his hometown of St. Louis. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri, in May 2006. Pastor Tony was first ordained in the PCA later that year at United Faith Community Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he served as Church-Planting Pastor for three years.
In 2009, Pastor Tony and his family returned to St. Louis where he became Associate Pastor at New City Fellowship - “a church where all the nations God has placed within the St. Louis community are welcomed to experience the reconciling love of God in Jesus Christ.” He served in that role for 8 years, providing pastoral oversight for community groups, adult education & discipleship, and ministry partnerships with like-minded churches. In 2017, he was elected Senior Pastor and served until late 2020 - where he was primarily responsible for leading preaching, teaching & worship ministries while leading the staff to fulfill the vision & mission of the church. In addition, Pastor Tony provided guidance to the leadership of Restore Saint Louis, a network of community outreach organizations governed by the church to minister to the city’s poor, widows, orphans, immigrants and refugees.
In early 2021, Pastor Tony received a call to lead New City Fellowship - a cross-cultural, justice-practicing Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) planted in 2014 in southeast Grand Rapids, Michigan. His pastoral leadership in Grand Rapids culminates nearly 15 years in multi-ethnic churches, helping diverse people groups walk in unity with the Lord and each other.
In his cover letter, Pastor Tony summarized lessons learned from those years: “that preaching & practicing the gospel are central to building unity, that conflict is inevitable and must be engaged in love, and that a diverse leadership team that listens to one another is key to building a truly multi-ethnic community.”
Pastor Tony is married to Tanya - and together they are blessed with four children - Hannah (22), Jonathan (20), Amaya (17), and Jeremiah (13) - and grandson Samuel (4).
